Local pastor publishes new book on preaching

Rev. Robert LaRochelle's new book "So Much Older Then" explores a way of understanding preaching as conversation.

Published by Energion Publications, the book was inspired by the difficult times he experienced with his flock and the questions he tried to answer.

LaRochelle, who is the pastor at Second Congregational Church, UCC in Manchester, is also the author of "Crossing the Street." Published last year, the book  advocates a "mainstream ecumenical center" in which "Roman Catholics and Protestants can come to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the gifts they bring to one another."

LaRochelle said he has dedicated "So Much Older Then" to his former congregation, the Congregational Church of Union, UCC.

On March 10, he'll  lead a discussion and book signing at 8:30 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church in Manchester.

Visit the Energion website to pre order the book which becomes available Feb. 26.
