Muslim Coalition of Connecticut to host interfaith event

The Muslim Coalition of Connecticut will host an upcoming interfaith event centered on the theme of prayer. The event, titled "In the Footsteps of Abraham" will feature speakers from the Muslim, Christian and Jewish tradition sharing their experiences and perspectives on prayer. Featured speakers are Rabbi Hesch Sommer, Imam Refai Arefin, Reverend Uriah Kim.

It is the third year that the Connecticut coalition has hosted the "In the Footsteps of Abraham" event, which is meant to bring people together and highlight the similarities between the three Abrahamic faiths, said Rebecca Minor with the coalition.

There will time for the speakers to take questions from the audience as well as smaller, table conversations. Dinner will be served at the event.

The free event will be held Sunday (Oct. 21) at the Glastonbury Riverfront Community Center on Welles Street from 3 to 6 p.m.
