Christmas concert precedes midnight mass at the cathedral

Archbishop Henry J. Mansell will celebrate the Christmas midnight Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave. in Hartford, on December 25th.

Before the Mass, the Cathedral Choir will be joined by harpist Grace Cloutier in a performance of selections from Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. The program will be augmented by selections from J.C. Bach’s Magnificat, the Concerto fatto per lat notte di natale by Arcangelo Corelli, and several of Louis Daquin’s popular Noëls for solo organ. The concert will be directed by newly appointed Choirmaster Dr. Edward Bolkovac.

The complimentary concert will begin at 11:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and rejoice in the coming of Our Savior, Jesus Christ.
 

Archbishop Mansell will also celebrate a Mass at the Cathedral on Dec. 25 at 11 a.m.
